Model Organisms
The are several organisms being studied for use in biological hyrdogen production. Some, such as clostridium acetobutylicum are being assessed for production of hydrogen from organic sources. Others, such as C. reinhardtii, will be useful for producing hydrogen directly from sunlight. It may be possible to include some combination of hydrogen producers in a bioreactor setup and thereby increase total hydorgen production.
